Jim, congrats on over 40 years for your store! I owned three different Camco sets over the years, all Oaklawn made. I bought a white satin flame or moire ? set in the mid 60's and added a natural walnut smaller set (my favorite) in the late 60's. Sold those in early 70's, but bought a champagne sparkle five piece set in '75 when I came back to Columbus. I always loved those drums. Nobody mentions the chrome snare with the parallel release that turned me on to Camco in the first place. I had one of those on my first two sets and really loved the sound and the fact that I didn't have any snare rattle going on when I played Latin rhythms. Good to see you again. (Terry W. Everson) Forgot to mention, I toured the factory with John Roshon? in Oaklawn when I spotted that walnut set that they were experimenting with at the time. I was like furniture in my family room.

Last year I bought a Slingerland snare with a 3 ply shell , no reinforcement rings, 10 lugs, and a plastic chrome wrap. It's the best snare I have. It's Soo responsive. It doesn't choke at any volume. Man, you sure have some sweet snare drum.

Wish you could have a section with low/finger tight tuning with gel if needed. Just to get rid of that ring which was overwhelming to my (sensory defensive) ear.

Its gorgeous. But the hoops stink. Dw should really consider either putting dw true hoops on the performance series. Or upgrading to a more sturdy kind.

I have a 5-ply concert tomorrow kit from 1978. I think they sound way better than thin ply concert toms. More resonant. They also project really well. Great tone. I’ve used them live and in the studio and have received lots of compliments. But I love the 3-ply kits, too. Went from Slingerland to Chicago Drum, but I still use all of them!

You need to clean up the audio, sounds like the limiter on whatever recorded this is clipping or squashing too hard.

Suggestion: can we just get a section in a video like this where we can hear the drum by itself? No cymbals, no run of the mill backbeat. And please LESS RIM SHOTS! I like hearing the drum in this context, but would be really great to just hear the drum at different dynamics.

I have the bronze and have played the brass a few times. Bronze just overtones are a bit darker and gives me the sound I like to hear in a snare. But it’s preference when you have those 2 great snare lol. Can’t go wrong with either

I'm a HUGE Paiste fan, but this ride has never sounded good to me. Limited in its ability, too heavy for my liking.

Whoever set this up was only thinking about the toms. How about getting a Hi-hat in there and making this a real playable drumset?
